Vandalism against Berlioz’s statue in Paris

I have just been informed of this stupid act of vandalism. The statue of Hector Berlioz, placed in Place Hector Berlioz (Paris) has just been defaced. Somebody fancied climbing to its head and painting his nose in red. On his way, he (or she, or it) broke two fingers of the right hand. The statue had been standing there since October 17th 1886. Sadly, I must admit that this act does not surprise me. Nowadays fair is foul and foul is fair.

All this information is published in http://www.hberlioz.com. The picture was taken on May 24th by Danièle Gasiglia (secrétaire générale des Amis de Victor Hugo) and M. Christophe Guillouët.hb-2
